90 gallon tank Flowerhorn and silver dat. I'm thinking it probably can't be done but would be awesome if it could. I would like some input and hopefully other opinions on this combo. Flowerhorn is currently around 3.5" and the Dat would be around 5"

in most case, the FH will kill the dat.

I suspect the FH will quickly outgrow the AT and then things will really get interesting.

Hmm interesting I thought that the Dats agressivness would stand up against the FH. I've read places for FH tank mates they need to be able to stand their ground against the FH and they can coexist but seems like it's not the best idea.

Also guess I should of mentioned that it's already in a tank with two larger 6-7" tinfoil barbs and a 3" clown loach. Have not witnessed any aggressiveness against the loach but minor fighting with the tinfoils when I first got the FH

Dats usually don't show much aggression until they reach larger sizes and they are very slow growers compared to most cichlids.

agreed, i've had my dat for what seems like endless months and its barely grew at all lol.
Food and water change schedule are the main growth factors.
