Can motoro's mate in a 150g tank?

I have a hybrid male and motoro female. Both a little over 2 years old and about the same size. The male is aggressively trying to mate with and turn over the female. She's resisting and getting beat up. She is also stinging the male while he is on top of her. They both eat very well

I have separated them till her wounds get better.

I am looking for advice on how to proceed once she is healed and can go back into the main tank. I'd hate to get rid.

Any help is appreciated.

Simple answer is no, but they will still try resulting in the female getting torn up as she has nowhere to go, especially if the male is young and learning to breed.
I take it a 150 is about a 6x2 foot print?
