I have a red devil, jaguar and a flowerhorn living in a 120 gallon. They are still small 5-7 inches. They share the tank with a large bichar. They have been doing very well and are growing steadily. Is it sustainable to keep these fish in this size tank?

i would bet this setup will not work out unless you get very very lucky with them. the 120 will not provide enough territory for when they get to their monster size. either i would get a bigger bigger tank or just choose one that you want to keep solo in the 120.

It's not likely with the flowerhorn in the mix but as long as the others don't get overly aggressive,it's a good possibility, just check out my collection, many critisized me when they were all young but those haters are biting their tongues now.It always depends on the individual fishes aggression though, keep em well fed...

Only if you are INCREDIBLY lucky and/or wind up with only females. If you have males then I don't see it working. Way too much aggression and they are going to be very large fish requiring very large territories which the 120 will not provide.

I just checked your "my tank setup" section...what are people biting their tongues about? The 200 gallon tank with the still very young and not even half grown pairs of butti and dovii along with a 10" midas and 8" JD. Sure it's all fine and dandy now but do you think that's going to continue when the buttis are 14"+ and the dovii are 20"+??? Or the 54 corner that's probably fine now because the fish are all juves but will also turn into a nightmare as the fish grow?

I'm in no way meaning to derail this thread but the answer you gave and the "biting their tongues" comment is incredibly premature. Now if you get those fish even close to their full grown sizes and they all still get along...then you can point and laugh and the haters will have to bite their tongues. In the mean time, just sit back and wait....and ideally wait until you see if this works before advising others to try the same thing. ;)
