Canada eh?
Alright so here's my problem: I have a 30 gal tank in my room and i want to upgrade to a 55gal tank for my rhom. My question is how much weight can the floor hold?? My room is located on the 3ed floor of the house so its not concrete floor like a basement of course. 55gal at 10 lbs a gallon would = 550 lbs!! not including the stand. Is this safe?

Also how many of you have your tanks in your room??

Water weighs 8.35 lbs. per gallon, Most poeple round it to 8.4 lbs. per gallon or 462 lbs for a 55 gl. tank. You should be ok.

90gallons is usually where I stop for an unbraced second or third floor

This.

However, for estimation purposes, a 10lb/gallon usually works.

You should be fine with a 55.

Thanks so much for the replys!
