My newest oscar has what almost looks like the begining of a nuchal hump, is this possible? or does it just have a high forehead? because comparred to my current oscars its quite a noticible diference.

Thanks in advance

Well, yeah. But its not like on a Devil or Flowerhorn. Not the size of a pingpong ball. But a mild slope!

I think that would be justified as the same.

would that mean that its male?

i would have to say that they do not develop the true fatty filled bulge they just get high foreheads, split one in half if you ever get a dead one. these are of a FH but still there is clearly an area that grows apart from the skull.

Thanks for the info everyone! That picture was very interesting.

oscars dont get a nuchal in the midas/flowerhorn way no, but there foreheads kind of tend to get more square.
