I have a friend who needs to rehome this guy unless he can live in her pond. Can they stand the winter outside? Her Koi do. I did post this catfish up on the classifieds for her. She is also not sure(since she didn't buy him/her) if he might be Leiarius Marmoratus. I would post pic's for someone to identify but she sent them to me in email and I don't know how to transfer them, sorry.

It is more than likely Leiarius Marmoratus. P. peruno are pretty rare and always confused with that catfish. No, it cannot survive in cold water. They are tropical catfish and need water no colder than about 70 F. The koi are cold water fish and they go into a certain hibernation mode when it gets too cold, which allows them to survive such low temps.

Thank you for the info, she didn't think he could do it outside. She's thinking of putting him in a kiddy pool in the basement till late spring and then transferring him into the pond for the summer. I figured out the picture situation and I'm hoping they'll post.
