I'm building a low stand for my 370g tank by using 12x2 on edge to make a frame and putting 4x2 flat across the top to make the supporting surface a bit wider (so it will be a total of 14" high and have 4" wide supports for the tank (no ply). The hardware store sells polystyrene in 2" thick sheets, I was aiming to have the stand about 16-18" high, and the cheapest/easiest way to achieve this would be to use 1-2 sheets of thick poly. Dimensions of the tank are 240cm long, 97cm wide, 63cm high. Are there any problems that could come from sitting the tank on 4" of polystyrene?
