Can regular morph Dovii and red morph produce fry?

I have a regular morph male who has paired up with a red morph female. No eggs yet.

Does anyone have a picture of this possible combination?

They can breed, both are the same species so they are compatible. Fry would most likely be split with some red, some blue, and maybe a few mixed.

Thank you Deadeye!

I would love to see a picture of that combination if any members could post one.
I have not been able to find any online.

Awesome picture. I am hopeful to have some fry like that.

I have the opposite going on over here. My male is Reg morph and female is red morph.

I wonder if male Gene's dominate over female or vice versa? Or if there is no real answer.

As those fry grew did they look more like father or mother?

Thanks again for your response.

I'm not sure about what gender of the red will put out more than the other but from the spawns from my pair, their babies had more of the tall body like the father but color is mostly from the blue female. I haven't had any show signs of peeling yet and my largest one is probably about 5 inches. I don't know how big my first batch is now since they were traded away before I was able to grow any out.

Chances are most fry will have the dominant blue trait. Considering the red is the recessive trait, you likely won’t see much of it.
