can scats survive full freshwater when they get older?

i was thinking about getting a red tiger scat. Also can i keep scats with discus? are they nice fish?

NO WAY, not with discus are you insane lol.

But yes in my experience they can live in full fresh

Discus arent as sensitive as you would think..theyre agressive in my opinion..

Have you owned a scat? A red one at that? there the most aggresive ones around, they attack and keep attacking. Mine killed 3 silver scats 3 days after the red scat was introduced. Discus stand no chance mate.

I second Camo X's opinion, Scats are mean. Can be kept in freshwater, but better with hard water and tons of aquarium salt. Given those conditions, and their temperament, there's a reason you usually only see big ones in African cichlid tanks.

Even if they are not real nasty they can be fin nippers.

scats will rough up the discus, not compatible fish at all
