can sharks carry ich?

is it possible for ich to live on sharks and eels? i ask because i have an ich outbreak in my tank on my "normal" fish and i want to remove them to treat them with copper, while leaving the sharks and hopefully eels in the main tank. will the ich carry on the sharks/eels keeping it alive or will the ich die off after 6 weeks or so without the "normal" fish in the main tank?

no sharks and eels do not carry the protozoan cryptocaryon

I could be wrong, but I don't think you want to expose sharks to copper

The thing is if you pull the fish to treat them, crypt is still living in the tank itself - and will stay there for awhile. You'll need to keep the host fish out long enough to break the life cycle.
