Alright, i have seen on one thread that piranha are illeagal in colorado, and on another it said they are legal but must have a permit. But when i walk into any of the lfs they all sell some species of piranha, so they must be legal here

im confused, does anybody live in colorado and can clarify it for me?

if they sell them at your LFS then buy them and dont worry bout it.

piranha are not illegal to own in Colorado. The problem is that they are illegal in Denver county! and unfortunately customs at DIA wont let them in. they blame the ban on its invasive but law makers are retarded!!! First of all they would NOT survive here its to cold they would die in the cold water temps. THEY ARE FROM THE AMAZON FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!!!!! And if customs opens the box at the airport, fish dealers have to order them by 100 minimum. and the fine is a $1000 a fish. so fish stores wont take that risk. and everything goes through the airport, so unless we can get this dumb ass law overturned in Denver county we are all screwed and reduced to the black market. so now you have you answer folks.

That description seems to apply to quite a few lawmakers.
