Paratheraps type. Probably zonatus or fenestratus. Hard to properly ID with the photo, as a lot of the species look quite similar.

Post some more pictures. But my guess would be a Zonatus or Hartwegi such as my avatar.

Hartwegi or fenestratus. they are the only ones that sport those very dark black window-like lined pattern. Fenestratus means window in latin.(hint)

Unless there are more pictures posted. I'm leaning towards a Zonatus, Hartwegi, Fenes mixture, i.e. potential hybrid. Just a guess, maybe an experienced CA keeper can chime in. Once again, more pictures will be helpful.

I included 3 pictures of the species I mentioned from Cichlid Connection as a visual reference (Pic Order Zo, Fenes behind Godmanni, and Hartwegi). Of course, depending on collection points. It's going to vary from what I have seen. Is it just me, or are CA species one of the hardest to ID?

But..... it's got a Black Belt & Bifa body shape, LOL! It looks nice though nonetheless and predict it will be a stunner.

I think the width of the tail eleminates the hartwegi and fenestratus options and it looks more like a Zonatum.
