yup definitely a male, and i would put some salt in the water to help him heal that side wound and not allow any fungus to form on it, GOOD LUCK

thanks guys and i have salt in there this was taken the day i got him and i noticed that. he isdoing a lot better now in just a few days with the salt.
thats good to hear, yeah as long as they dont get infected and have clean water and good food, fish tend to heal really quickly
yeah the pic was taken in a little 5 gal i have him in a 55 and the water is great. i hope i can get a female for him
