but the store keeper told me that the flowerhorn is male and gave me a flowerhorn pellets to grow the hump should i feed that to her

It might even be a male but typically people tell by the hump, you never know for sure by the hump because it take some males longer and some have it huge when theyre tiny. The food will be ok either way

The hump is genetics you cannot sex them by looking at that. Its head is not going to get much bigger don't bother feeding fancy foods its not going to help. I believe this fish is a male also but you have to vent it if you want to know for sure. Sex is not important with this fish I don't think it is good enough quality to breed with anything and make nice fry.

At the end of your day, Your BUYING a fish for passion/hobby/whatever.
At the end of their day, their SELLING you for profit. Just a heads up, many people will claim fish to be this and that, best way is to see before buying. Good Luck anyway, I do like your fish.

stick to color enhancing or high quality food if you want to feed her/him something special. the extra expensive head boosting food would be wasting your money imo. i personally cant tell the sex. it looks female shape and body wise, but the vent area is a bit sharply pointing backwards so it looks sort of male but it isnt extended enough for a definite confirmation.
