Hi Guys,

Can someone help identify what I'm dealing with here?

My HRP has a small white dot on his face as you can see in the pictures... Water parameters are fine, no other fish showing signs of anything.
He is still eating and seems happy as ever.

In a completely different tank... One of my black angels has a white spot near the eye.
Not sure if fungal? Bacterial? Neither?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Could be the beginnings of a fungus spot. Would add api fungus cure since you have plants.

I don't have real plants... Hmmm.
I was thinking fungal as well. The fish are not even in the same tank...

The angels eye is now red as well. :(

Lol....thought from the pics it was real. Oh well....can do the api fungus cure or just some salt, 1 tsp per g and increase ur water change schedule.

To me there is a possibility that it is bacterial.
What is the temp of the tank?
Some bacteria thrive and become virulent at temps of 82'F and higher.
Columnaris is one of those, some symptoms include white fungal appearing patches that seem column like (hence the name).
If so, temp needs to be lgradually lowered to under 82'F, and an antibiotic medication effective against gram negative bacteria may be in order.
