thanks for all the replys i've had him about 5 weeks and yes he didn't look the way he does now ,he has had about 15 live goldfish and 1.5 kg dead food in the 5 weeks i'm not going to feed goldfish anymore just dead foods ..

armatus grows to anywhere from 12 to 18 inches (rarely) a year so i'm guessing maybe 2/3 of a year old?
