Hey guys, me and my wife picked these guys up at petco, they were labeled as convicts. Clearly as not convicts and if they are they are a deformed or a hybrid? they kind of have a mouth of a Blood parrot, but I'm hoping someone knows what these guys are or have seen something like them

thanks for your time.

i sure hope its not a Blood parrot....

But it doesn't have the same..body shape? along with it has different and longer back fins then the pictures of blood parrots I've seen.
What age do they start changing? the male is 3 inches

Hmm. They look smaller then 3" mine is at 3"I don't have a pic when he was 2" but he looked similar to yours.
Crappy photo of mine when it was unfaded. He's in center.

For what it's worth, they got a lot of personality. Also like others said it could just be mixed with bp. Like parrot convict?

calichai, your links didn't seem to have any photos on them,

I love the personality of the female, she's very active doesn't hide. Unlike the male he just is always hiding in the leafs if i walk near the tank but when i watch from afar he's out and about....they don't seem to be aggressive at all, i have 2 shrimp in the tank, a cory cat and 2 danois and everyone gets along. but its only been about a month since I've had em

hopefully they don't change bright orange on me
