Can someone recommend a good pump for me. I was at least 5000 GPH. Noise not being a main issue, as I could easily put a box with some insulation to help it be sound proof. I need something that could maintain 5000 gph with 6 feet of head. It can be a aquarium pump or pond pump. I just dont know much about relieable brands etc....

Well, I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer this, But, I would lean toward Baldor motors and Goulds Pumps. I will be curious to see what the imput from actual /V\oster tank owners is. Not saying TStephens is at all wrong(who knows You might have a big ol' tank) but that is darn near a big pump as aquariums go.

There are several brands out there that would be of good choice. Your main criteria for noise reduction is to make sure the pump you select operates a t a maximum of 1750 RPM's. For that flow rate, you are probably looking at 1/4 to 1/3 hp.

Try Performance 'Cascade' series pumps, which use Baldor motors (high quality). http://www.performancepropumps.com/cascade_curve.htm

Also, do not under size your piping. 5000 gph is 83 gpm, which would require at least a 2-1/2 piping, but since 2-1/2 valves are hard to find, I would suggest 3" PVC piping. Larger piping equates to slower velocity of flow which reduces headloss as well as noise.

Wow that place is right around the corner from me. Thanks! Looks just like sequence pumps.

Aquascape 5000 gph pond pump is better for that large fountain you have always desired. It is a high quality pump with the durability, justified for 3 years! This pump can be resulted in and down or side to fit in most skimmers.
