ahhh! there was this amazing site that i found on how to breed those and im trying to find it :S

if i find it ill send :)

I believe all you have to do is buy about 20. Throw them in a well established tank of 10+gallon size with at least some moss inside. Feed and change the water as you would fish and then you wait for the shrimp to start reproducing.

If you want to accelerate the process you can buy berried (egg carrying) females along with a number of shrimp to ensure there's some males too.

I have found that it seems to work best if you don't change the water that often. I spend a huge amount of time making sure the new water matches the old water chemistry. For some reason, I always seem to lose a few shrimp when changing. I have never seen my cherry shrimp NOT breed under normal conditions. I have mine in a 20G planted tank with some java moss in there. Water temp 78, pH of 6.4, and soft.

Hope that helps.

the biggest killer of freshwater shrimp is copper. make sure that you don't use any products with copper and read all food you feed them to be sure there is no copper as well. many fish flake foods have copper so be aware
