can someone tell me about Hoplarchus psittacus?

ive been looking at true parrots and a local guy is selling a 8" WC and another 8" one. ive read that they get 15" but most peoples i've seen on here and cichlid-forum are about 10-12". also how aggressive are they and how fast is their growth rate. could i keep one of the 8"ers in a 48x18 or a 48x24 for about a year or so with tankmates? thanks

These are cool looking fish, I can't wait till mine get past 12". I would keep only one in a 75gallons with other dithers, but not 2 because they are aggressive to each other, even to its female. I have a pair in a 125g with other south american cichlids, its in one my posts if you want to see it.

i want to move my 3 small dats and 2 bichirs in with it, so it looks like a larger tank than 90g is necessary for them with tankmates

they are aggressive with their own kind.
best to keep them either in a very big tank, or one per tank.
