I have no idea but it kind of looks like some sort of pike cichlid.

Definately a pike cichlid. Post it in the pike forum and you will get a respone of which one.

they were fairly common and readily available not that long ago.
Brazilian crenicichla are hard to find....

It's funny how a fish will be so common for years and then just fall off the face of the map making what was taken for granted a highly sought after fish again. Orange pikes would be a hot seller right now if anyone had them!

I have a pike similar, it is a rainbow pike. It is also huge, it grow very quickly. It is only suppose to get 12 inches and he is about 9 right now. I bought him at about 5 inches
