Not sure, but my best guess would be Half-banded Spiny Eel or Yellow-fin Spiny Eel.

It was sold as a zig zag eel but from my understanding it’s like described to be 3 or 4 different types if it’s labeled zig zag

Probably wrong, but aren’t zigzags sold as tire tracks and vice versa? Rocksor

That is a tire track eel, Mastacembelus armatus. It is neither Macrognathus circumcinctus nor M. pancalus.

Just a bit of advice. Use Google images. Search up the species that others suggested and compare it to your own fish. Don't be so quick to accept answers and wait for more than one person to chime in before coming to a conclusion.
