Yes they can. This can be done very easily by neglecting the hell out of your ray. Poor diet, poor water condition, and all together poor living conditions.
and ac that ray on the link is one horrible looking ray. it is very underfed and shouldve been dead a long time ago. your on the right forum now to ask questions and look at rays in the media lounge. they are almost all great looking rays. no bones showing and no dents in there heads. i dont really know how he kept that one alive for so long i didnt read it all but looking at the pics it was bad.
alright with that question i have another, i feed my rays mysis shrimp, blood worms, and silversides. The mysis twice a day and i rotate the other two every other day. are my rays getting enough nutrition? is it normal for male rays to grow faster than female rays? will they grow at the same pace or could one grow faster than the other?
i just want to make sure i mean they both search for food all the time but the male seems to be growing faster than the female so i dont know
sounds like your male is a more aggressive eater. in the end thats what is going to show you witch one grows faster lol. just make sure you feed until they stop eating thats how you know they are both eating good. plus you can see the backs rise pretty good.
you might want to add some different types of food in there also. maybe some massivore pellots and krill. the more variety the more you know they are getting what they need.
i have tried to get them to eat the massivore pellets but they dont like them and i dont really like starving them to switch their foods and i cant stuff any of their foods because its all too small still
