I put in a pond pump in the corner of my 240gal 8Footer its moving the water all the way around just woundering if its too much current to the point that it will disturb the fish??? (TSN-21"-;TSNxRTC-8"-;Black ARO-23"-;2x Gars;2XClown Knives;2x Niger cats-18"; 2x 11" Motoro's)? the current is pretty strong all the way to the end on the back side where the pump is then on the current along the front of the glass on its way back to the pump is like say...30% compared from the back side??? not sure if its too strong of a current?????? thanks-Mark

Your tank should be a close replica of the environment from which the fish came. The gar in particular needs calm water. Diffuse the pumps output with a large sponge.

Sounds like a lot of current for that stock. Do you have a tank upgrade planned? You have a lot of fish for that tank...

You could use a spray bar along the length of the tank like a lot of discus fish keepers use. That should minimise the current.

ya im gonna do that i just concerned about dead spots as the intake is at one end of the tank for now till i add in a 2nd FX5 to the other end then i should have enough current then i think!

just to get the water movin and get all the crap to the FX5 intake and that Fx5 is right full of biomax had 2 Fx5"s one sh*t the bed tho i bought it used not sure how old it was

I set up a re-circulation pump with the outlet going directly to dead spots. It picks up debris nicely and pushes it to the intake of my main filter. The recirculation pump operates on a timer so it doesn't bug the fish all day.
