I have a jack dempsey and a vieja synspilum. They are both juvies still, but seem to have paired up. The dempsey keeps trying to coax her over to a certain spot in the tank. Can they breed together? And if so, does anybody have pictures of this cross? Thanks for the info.

They can hybridize but I have never heard of it happening. Evry syn hybrid ive seen turns out grea though

i think ive seen that beforee.... no wait it was a jack dempsey and a blackbelt.. looked kinda like a big fat dempsey with a line running through it. Jd and syns would be cool though hope they spawn! given that jd and bb can I would assume that they fry will survive
I never knew fish could cross breed.someone at LFS said they won't.My JD and Flowerhorn were real close till I got rid of Flowerhorn
