ok as some of you know i'm in the process of getting a silver aro baby. so my tank will consist of.

4 discus
4 tetras
1 silver arowana
1 bristlenose plec
1 clown plec
1 coolie loach
1 kribensis

so can I keep 2 african knifes, a crenicichla anthurus, and a couple two three clown loaches? I really want to have some monsters.

the tetras, krib, and loach will probably be eaten so that will leave

4 discus
1 silver aro
1 bn plec
1 clown plec

thanks,
Kevin

I would skip the crenicichla, it may show agression to the aro. I've never had that species so I cant speak from first hand experience, but the others will be ok. I plan on doing discus with my black aro, I think that would look so nice:)

The aro's won't eat the discus?

i honestly dout that the aro will eat my discus since its so small and my discus are so big.

Actually there is really a 50 50 chance that the tetras krib and loaches will be fine. I have 4 4 clown loaches that my aro could down so easily. I also have two convicts and several rainbow fish that it could eat as well. He grew up with all of them and left them alone. Put a goldfish in the same size as the loaches and it will be a goner, but every thing else it leaves alone.

My old aro would eat anything that it could fit in its mouth, just depends on the fish.

There are also some members that have huge aros and small fish and it seems to be working out for them.

Delgato has a bunch of small loaches with his 20+in aro.

You just have to try to know.
