I have a 90G tank (5'x1.5'x.1.5') and im planning to keep the following fish in it:

4 gold head comps
2 firefin comps
5 julidochromis transcriptus
6 Neolamprologus Calliurus

all will be similar sized, about 1".

I would say yes. I keep all those besides the Neolamprologus Calliurus. And they do fine together.

They will be fine together.

Make sure to not over feed in a tank that size compared to the size of the fish...

Each species will pair off and make life difficult for the rest. In time the comps could hybridize. The julies will probably be the terrors of the tank, especially when they start to breed.

yeah i'd pick one comp spec and add something that moves to make the tank more lively and the other fish more comfortable, like some cyps.

thanks for the replies guys. :)
its been 3 days since i added the above mentioned fish, minus the julies, in the tank.

i still a little confused after reading the mixed replies and also this is my first attempt at keeping tangs. Plus tangs are very rare and expensive here so i want to mix them with each other right.

what i would like to know is should i add the julies ??
and also there are some black and yellow calvus of the same size available, is it a good idea to add them as well in the mix ??

looking forward to your replies.

With your current stock list that you added is fine. You do not want to add too many more comps into a 4ft tank. They are not giant fish, but do like to claim area as their own. I would say so far so good. Some cyps would be nice addition.

thanks for the reply mike, appreciate it.
So no more comps. can i add julies or leleupi ?
