It is possible they can breed at that size. I have seen fish do it before, but it is unlikely they will be successful at that size.
The eggs probably won't get fertilized or they will eat the eggs, b/c they don't know exactly what to do just yet.
If they are paired off all ready, you should move them to a breeding tank and see what ensues.

i'm gonna gues your flowerhorn is female and your tex is male. yes it is very likely they will breed at those sizes. no are not trippin.
Females FH can lay eggs at 4-5 months olds, about 2.5-5 inches(excluding tail).

thats a good female. almost straight plums, ok pearls and good redness why cross it with a texas instead mate it with an water kok FH and sell the unwanted fry to LFS it will be better that way.
