State of chaos
So I was on top of the world at school today: snowday tomorrow. Than I caught a stomach virus iin school. Felt like crap for an hour and a half, was miserable on the bus, stumbled home, slept for 2 hours, then heaved. I went to go take my Snake out (great stress reliever for me) and I thought: Can I get the Snake sick?? What about my fish, Newts, cat, dog, or birds? This might be a stupid question, but I'd kick myself if one of my pets got sick because I got too close to them.

no

Most likely not.. pets have different immune systems, which are probably a lot better then ours considering they were built for the wild! :)

Hope you feel better!

probably not, but its possible. i doubt your newts will catch the flu but something like salmonella is transferrable between reptiles and people....

your animals can really only catch diseases from other animals mainly of the same species, but you can transport it to them if you have been in contact with an infected animal.
Species jumping viruses are a big deal and are the ones you see on the news. Like H1N1 or Avian flu.

they cant just catch a common cold or flu from people though.

Lulz. You mean we were "built" for the indoors?
