To me, it looks like it could, but I just want to make sure. Looking at new stands online, it looks like some stands are built to be double deckers and some are not.

I'm thinking about putting another 10g below as I need another QT tank if I adpot a fish.

Thanks.

Hello; I have a stand similar to the one pictured. Similar in that it also has round stock for the legs. I find my stand to not be as stable ( more prone to racking) as my metal stands made from all angle iron. I notice this racking movement more when using a magnet cleaner to scrape algae off the glass. That said the stand might hold a tank on the lower shelf. In fact a lower tank will lower the center of gravity a bit and may make the stand more stable.

Now for a couple of comments from what I see in the photo. First is the point here the legs rest on the carpet. Seems likely to me the legs will make places in the carpet and those places may be permanent. Not sure if a practice of mine will help, but I some times place small cat food cans under the iron legs of stands. I do this for two reasons.
One is to spread the load out a bit so the legs do not make dents in my vinyl flooring. Not sue yet how well this will work as I have not moved a tank since sitting it up that way, but have had metal legs make dents in a lineloeum floor.

The other thing is that the tank is on carpet. I have had bad outcomes from this practice and no longer will put a tank on carpet at all. I went to the trouble to remove all wall to wall carpet fromm the area where my tanks sit because of the problems.
The more serious issue has been that water gets either spilled or a tank leaks. The water gets under the carpet and more to the point under the carpet pad . Once there the water stays a long time and can cause mold to grow. The other thing is being wet over time causes damage unless the floor is a cement slab.
I get that you do not plan to spill any water nor have any leaks, but I always spill some and have had tank leak. If you own the place then it is one thing but if you rent you may accumulate an expensive repair bill.

Looks like the stand may hold a small tank on the lower shelf. No gurantees however as making such a judgment from only a picture is iffy at best.

Thanks for the detailed answer. We live in a condo and own the unit. Preet sure There's a cement slab underneath as i can feel it when I jump and that's what it looks like under the washer and dryer.

I have a 125g on the carpet nearby and if I were to do it over again, I'd pull up the carpet underneath before installing it. That's what I'll do if I upgrade the tank in the future which is in a planning stage.

Thanks for the responses. I just wanted to make sure. Pics below.

I just finished setting it up.

Went to go check out this clown loach that needed a home. Lady had gotten this tank from a neighbor and a bunch of fish were in a 20L awaiting homes. I decided to just take the fish home as there was no heater for the tank and temp was at 71 degrees.

I wish I could fit the bristlenose and rainbow shark in my tank.

I feel bad for this loach as he's all alone in quarantine but if he makes it through, he'll have 6 loach friends. (Closest thing he had to a loach bc was the rainbow shark in the tank. I wish I could've taken him too as lady said the two would sleep next to each other. I was afraid rainbow shark would be too aggressive. I made a thread about it.)

Anyway:
