is it possible to keep diff types of knife fish with eachouther? im getting 2 gkf, 2 brown knife fish, 2 clown knifes and 2 black knif fish .. they are all babies ofcourse around 1-2" is it possible to keep them all together? and dont ask my tank size i can get any size easly..

also im getting senegals can i keep them with the knife fish also?

Probably not gunna end well. I am not a knife owner or anything but this does not sound like a good combo to me. It may work for a while but I know for sure that the CK is going to outpace all of those fish in growth (except maybe the brown knifes cuz I don't know anything about them). The only way to know is to try I guess.

well my lfs is selling the browns,ghosts,and clowns and something else along with bichir senegal or w/e now. and i want them all!.. i went out and bought 2 20 gallons and 1 10 gallon as grow out tanks untill they can be kept with some of my outher fish and they are ordering a baby arow for me and tomorrow im building a stand for the 3 small tanks.

1 20 gallon is empty and 1 10 gallon is empty and the outher 20 is holding a orange pike and a pleco

but i dont know what knife fish i want there all so sexy!!! i wish some one could tell me alot about them

They will fight and you will end up wif dead fish!

They can stay together as Bubbas, but NOT when they get older!

kk good thats exactly what i needed to know.. im getting a extra 40 gallon today so ill have 5 tanks 1 tank with 2 clown knifes 1 tank with 2 bgk and 1 with 2 bichirs

I doubt two bgks would live together. Its generally a bad idea to keep two south american or african knives each other. Their electrical currents would clash and they would fight. And plus every time I see two together at a pet store they are fighting. It would be to keep a clown with a bgk. Their growth patterns would be totally different but that would be your best bet.

well i saw the browns with the clowns and the 9 bgk together just them in a tank i dont mean with the outher stuff... but idk ... i no for a fact that i want 2 bichirs and atleast a bgk or a clown knife.. but i dont know

umm, so im gona have a tank with 2 bichirs so far and then a empty tank lol damn u knife fish why cant u get along with eachouther

My neighboors giving me his 55 gallon with filter and everything ... im gona have 5 tanks... and im only 16 if my fish live till i get out of collage they will be monsters! im so happy right now u dont even understand !!! ROAR!

ive heard u cant keep knifes together because they will fight. and ck's can get 3 foot so the other knifes will become food! oh and a 3" ck will out grow even a 55g in less than a year! mine grew 3" to 12" in 5 months and is still getting visually larger by the week. an adult ck will need atleast 200+gallons and this is a VERY conservative number. ur plans are very ill advised.
