i have got a blood red parrot fish and would like to keep some buttekoferi but they are different kinds of cichlids one is new world and the other is an african would they live together or try to kill each other??

the butti would pobably be a little to agggressive for the parrot maybe, gets alot bigger aswell.

how big is your tank????? as for they are from diff places (america and madagascar) lots of people keep them with americans so that point is fine.

There is a 90% chance the butti will shred your parrot at some point...sorry! Consider severums, oscars, JDs or some other low aggression cichlid. Red Snook mabye? Mines the biggest wuss in the world

I'd just get rid of the blood parrot and dedicate the tank to butti, which is a much more interesting and attractive fish (and not bred to be deformed).
