Hey guys!I got a payara about 2days ago.he/she is about 2in and I was wondering what breed he was.the LFS sold him as a Tat but I'm not too sure?
another question...should I have some currents in his tank now or is he too young?And WHAT DO I FEED HIM???some of u said guppies.i put 1 in and he didn't eat it!!!i the put a rummy nose tetra and he ate it...he is not eating anything else!Please tell me what to do!?can u also ID it for me?

No ,that's no tat,definitely a scomb and once it settles in comfortably those guppies will disappear.
 
I agree with Krich, looks to be a Scomb. Mouth more upturned then Tat or Arm, the shape of the caudal fin and that it's clear plus the headstanding(much more pronounced in young Scombs then the other two) lead me to believe this guys a Scomb.
 
He probably ate the rummynose first because the red makes it look injured and it wanted to take advantage of the situation. Like they said, it will be the only fish in there pretty soon.
