my dad still owes me money and i want more mbu lol

It's been done before with varying degrees of success. As you may know, there are varying "personalities" among individual mbus. Theoretically, if you have two or three docile mbus, it might work. I kept two small mbus (one was 3" and the other was 5") together in an 80 gallon growout tank with other fish for several months without incident. However, the smaller mbu was aggressive towards the larger mbu, especially during feeding time when it would nip at and attempt to take frozen krill from the larger mbu, but it didn't inflict noticeable damage. Ultimately, I moved the larger mbu into a 180 gallon with some larger fish when it got over 6 inches. The smaller mbu ended up dying of ich, but the larger mbu is the 20+ incher I still have.

well as i said my dad still owes me some money.... so i'm thinking to go buy 2 more...

im sure you have seen my 180... it has alot of fish and alot of hiding spots...and plant cover... maybe they just wont see eachother as a threat.... and since they are all under 5" they will all get along... and get use to being around other fish...

how old is yours and any full tank shots :D

thanks that would be great...

how was its growth rate...

I'm trying for ultimate growth. I have a pair of foot-long mbus in a 650 with tons of filtration (60GPM), 200gal weekly water changes, VitaChem-soaked raw shell-on shrimp, gut-loaded live crayfish, FW clams, ramshorn snails, and whatever else I can throw in. I removed the tarpons, gars, and af aro to other tanks to give the mbus some real elbow room for growth. Just for S&G.

phil,
how were they with tank mates?
i think next week ima go get 1 more.

and any suggestions on how to get it on shrimps?
all it eats now is earthworms/blackworms/and crays.....

its only gets to eat from my hand because with all the other fish eathing its hard for him to get to the worms...

I never had a mbu that bothered other tankmates. And, I never "got" them onto shrimp. They all snatched them up since day 1.
You can try stinking the shrimp up a bit. Thaw some raw shrimp with some thawed krill to get the krill scent on them. SHould make the shrimp more attractive to the puffers.

"One more"? Each adult is going to need roughly 300gals of space. How many are you shooting for and what tank size are they in?
