i have a emperor f2600 filter(or something. i lost the box, can't tell :P). it operates in such a manner where the filter powerhead, as in, the entire filter is operated underwater. i realised that the head would heat up quickly with use and raise the water temperature up to about 31 degrees. is this temperature healthy for fishes such as oscars and hujetas? also, i am unsure if continued use would continually increase the water temperature. thanks!! :D

Hello; In general any electric motor will produce some waste heat from it's operation. There will be some resistance heat as current moves thru the circuits. There will be heat prduced from the moving parts including from the impeller moving the water. I assumed that you mean 31 degrees C. Given a steady room temperature, then at some point there should be be a balance between the heat generated and the heat lost from the tank and the temperature increase should stop. Where this equilibrium point will be will depend on factors that I would be guessing about at this point.
I am use to Fahrenheit, so this will be about 88 degrees F. That is a bit warm. At the least you will need to aggitate the water to get as much dissolved oxygen into it. I think that oscars may be able to tolerate this for a time, but not sure about long term. I do not know about the hujetas at all.

Can you determined if the unit is operating properly??

i lost the original packaging so i'm not sure what the model number is...i believe it is
