i would like to learn how to breed dew worms. for a while i was thinking of breeding red wigglers but now i have decided i would rather breed dew worms since their much larger and easier to catch.

does anyone know the procedure to breed dew worms? any tips to share would also be appreciated.

thanks

no idea , this is the first time i've even heard them called "dew" worms . here in the states they are called just plain ol "night crawlers"

their basically like night crawlers, however i think dew worms get bigger... im not 100% positive. also dew worms don't regenerate, night crawlers do!

the other day i bought some dew worms and there was a 11.5''X 1/4'' worm!

I just did a Google search and apparently dew worms are Lumbricus terrestris, more commonly known as Canadian night crawlers. They should be easy to breed- just do a Google search for a little bit of info.

But, large styrofoam container, dirt (organic is best), shredded newspaper, and scraps of vegetables.

im happy to hear their one in the same:D

The two types of earthworm best suited for worm composting are the redworms: Eisenia foetida (commonly known as red wiggler, brandling, or manure worm) and Lumbricus rubellus They are often found in aged manure and compost heaps. do not use dew-worms, they are not likely to survive in a compost.

im not gonna treat my cultivation project like a composter. ive found sources that have told me simply to use peat moss and cornmeal. keep the the peat moss wet but not to wet it also needs to be cool and dark.
ive started today with 150+ fairly large dew worms. ill feed them some cornmeal once a week and do a little bit of watering, they will be kept in a large composting bin in a shed in my backyard.. hopefully in 2 months time ill see some result.
ill post some pictures of small project soon
