Can you buy 4-5" IT's?

I had 5 dats in my 240 of various sizes with an Arowana and a bunch of polypterus. I got them back in December and everything has been fine.
Suddenly...I'm down to 2. Someone (probably the Arowana) has decided these guys are tasty in the past week. The two largest are still there, probably 5"ers. I want to find some similar size replacements....but only find tiny ones. Any ideas? Or is it just really hard to find them?

Im not sure where u live, but you can usually find nice 4-5"ers at ur lfs..
I was debating back and forth about an arowana for a little while now. I decided to wait til my 2" NTT's get a little bigger. I also have (1) 3.5" IT and a 5" IT. Hopefully they don't get too big by that time b/c I want to get a small aro, and I don't want him to b a pricey meal for the IT's.
The aro grows so much faster than the tigers tho.

you may need to get the bigger ones special ordered, because the bigger they are the more they cost. a lot of the places around me have switched to selling smaller ones so they can flip them quick, not everyone is willing to pay the high $$$ for a fish.

damn thats alot of missing dats john!! what have you been up to man? the asian fish store had a few larger ones last time i went. i havent seen many other places with them locally in a while.

I've been working 50+ hours a week and going to school 7am to 5pm m-w!! I have been lacking in my MFK!!
I moved my flowerhorn into the 240 and the remaining dats to my 55. So far so good with the fh in with tankmates. It's still early.
Maybe I can get small ones to grow out in the 55 with the fh finally in the big tank as originally planned.
