My flowerhorn and texas have about 400-500 fertile eggs that are 2 days old. I already have about 250 1 month old fry from this pair in a 56. The only tank I have left is a 15 which I plan on moving mommy and babies to as soon as they are wrigglers. What is the most fry you have ever stuffed into one tank?
What size was the tank and how far apart were the batches? I wanted babies and I got what I asked for, but damn! I have too many.

well for a short period of time they should be ok... just remember that fish put a growth hormone into the water... when they sense this they stop growing.. lots of water changes will help.. but remember they more you feed the more the fish poop, and the more water changes you have to do if you want the fry to grow..

Same as above... A lot of water changes will do temperarly. Check w/ LFS to see if they can take any for store credit or food for future batches. I had Dempseys and Mollies that i would that I got frozen food for in exchange.

I do a water change about every 3 days with spot vacuuming and vacuum/flip the sand every week. I have had no dead loss thus far, except for cannibalism towards the runts. My buddy offered up one of his tanks for growing them out so they will not be cramped in a 15. Also, petco is having a dollar per gallon sale this weekend... might grab a 55 since they are great for a lot of things anyway. Thanks for your help guys.
