can you cut arowana's barbels?

I have a black arowana that is perfect except for its bent barbels due to crashing against the glass.

I was wondering if I cut it, would it grow back to normal.. have anyone tried this?

Most of the time barbels grow back, often times they grow back deformed.

I sure hope your kids don't have oversized ears or a big nose or something.

yeah they grow back, but very slow...

just let it be. you never know what would happen. Infection? sickness? death? I dont think its like cutting your nails.
