can you flip it? No you can't!

hey all, my male motoro have been trying to flip over my female marble motoro for few months now and I've still not seen any success.

does any one know and experienced the same problem?

the male is about 12" and the female is 14" but she is much stronger and heavier then him.

also what do you guys feed to your ray in term of condition them for breeding?

at the moment I'm feeding them squid, frozen shrimps, river shrimps, cockle and sinking pellets.
 
also if shes not ready she will put up a better fight.

She will mate when she's ready. My male was smaller than the female and like others, he would flip upside down.
Their food selection sounds good.
 
My Ray Bar only has about 10.5" of water depth. could this be preventing "the Deed"? I have caught them foreplay a few times over the last year but they have yet to be productive.
