so, first of all, no pics

anyways, i saw these nice pike cichlids at my lfs. their scientific name is something like Crenicichla nostrothlamus

do any of you guys know what i'm talking about?

can you give me some general info on these guys (size, temperment), and maybe some adult pics?

how do you think one would do in a ten gallon with a jewel cichlid?

No problem. I just typed in Crenicichla on Yahoo, and it gave me several common scientific names. It was just spelled a little differently from the way you spelled it.

A ten gallon seems a little small to me for even a small pike like this one, but I could be wrong. Someone else will have a better answer for you.

its a dwarf species right?
i would say minimum 20 gallon
