Cliff notes below !

I have a 90 gallon tank (Essentially a taller 75 gallon) That I have devoted to Bichir species and I plan to add more in the future but currently my stock list is 1 Ornate Bichir 9" 1 senegal bichir 9" and one Delhezi about 6-7" I had a livingstonni cichlid living with them but he is fin nipping my bichirs I had to put a partition up with light diffuser to stop him and keep his bio load so I can add a gar without a spike in parameters.

What is a good gar species for a 90 gallon tank with bichirs that won't fin nip and does not absolutely require live food.

The filtration for the tank is
An eheim 2215
Fluval 405
AC110
18 watt turbo twist UV

Thanks guys !

none for life in there man. a florida for a while but not too long. and gar are a no go with cichlids

I had a gar a long time ago and couldn't get him off of live.

I'd say get a small spotted or something and grow it out and get rid of it when it's time If you really want to try one.

The cichlids getting evicted because of his tail nipping shenanigans. Thanks for the honesty guys. I asked because a bunch of people suggested one for me in another thread.

They are still pretty peaceful.
It's not a totally bad idea. As long as you know you will have to re-home it or get a bigger tank.

u know u can trust me. a florida will do for a good while but no were near forever.

Well im moving back home to Monterey in less than a year once this project is done and at that point ill be getting a 500 gallon + with the bonus. So anyone think he will last that long? I would totally upgrade in fact ive passed up some very good offers on large tanks because I don't want to have to move lots of fish and tanks. Do they grow very quickly ?

less than a year? u should make it. btw change ur location.
