I have a 125 gallon tank without wood. I would like a pleco but don't want to mess with the decor. Is there any other way to have a pleco tank?
Thanks I bought something similar in AmazonI personally kept two Marbled Sailfin Pleco's without any wood for 4 yrs until I traded them in to a lfs.
Most Pleco do consume wood fiber in the wild. This is what I just found it contains Oak Wood.https://www.miscota.com/fish/tropic...oKQpSCFZxDLUEEkBusvwGBHjTRa_FxABoCcRYQAvD_BwE
So are you saying a common pleco can live without wood fibers?Even the ones that supposedly require wood as part of their diet when kept in captivity, as far as science has proven to date, they do not.
Can Plecos Digest Wood?
I have been suggesting to people for years that panaques etc. don't eat wood for it's nutrient value, or for digestibility, they eat it as a secondary action when scraping the biofilm that grows on the wood.
