Can you Have your T5ho lights on the glass

THey usually come with legs... but they are flourecent tubes right? as long as they aren't making a lot of heat prolly ok.
Not a very good idea. If the glass heats up and then cooler water splashes onto it, it could very easily crack. That's the reason almost all t5 systems have legs.
Typical annealed glass is safe to about 300-400 degrees, but still prolly wouldn't risk it I guess. You have a hood you can mout to?
I had T-5's on the glass top for some time with no problem but would suggest to get legs to play it safe I am doing it this way for a expirement and to see if it is better to do it this way and how safe it is. But it is in a controlled environment where nothing can be lost from a problem.
