About two months ago I went to a local breeder to try and find some different malawis to add to my tank. The selection in my local shops was pretty poor so this guy agreed to supply to me directly.
I got four of each that I wanted with the idea of picking the best of each group for my show tank. These guys are in a 35 gal grow out tank at the moment.
Please look at the pics below and let me know your thoughts.
What I requested was:
4 x Aulonacara Masoni.
4 x Nimbochromis polystigma
4 x Protemelas Sp. "Steveni Taiwan"
I think we will all agree that there is no polystigma in these photos?
It looks to me like the one guy could actually be a kadango (middle pic) but the body doesnt look high enough in my opinon. My brother also ordered with me and he asked for kadango`s but never got them so I may have landed up with them
The fish at the bottom of the first pic has already spawned with two of the females and ive got about 35 fry in another tank so it would actually really like to know what they are. (The spots on him are actually algae on the glass)
I have read that the Taiwan reef can take up to two years to show full colors so is this possibly his juvi colors that are messing me around?
Either way they look like some great future specimens and i cant wait until they are big enough for the show tank.
Thanks for your help.
