some close ups taken on a rock & driftwood in my 20g FW tank. They look like microscopic palm trees with a definite truck attached to glass/rock/wood/etc and then a rotary arrangement of spokes like a bike. 
Can you help ID this Algae and suggest treatment/prevention?

Thanks Jordy. I researched further and found they are actually not a true parasite, but in the same family as worms, jellyfish, etc. They aren't really harmful to fish but if nothing controls their population, they could get out of hand. I am investigating treatment methods now. thanks again.
