Alright, I haven't seen this pleco as of yet but will be and getting a picture of it as soon as I can.
I just got a call from a client who purchased a Pleco from a kid for $7.00, who in turn had picked it up at Wally-world for who knows how much. This pleco was grown out in a 10 gallon tank. My client tells me that the pleco is approx a foot long if not longer. and is really curious as to what it is exactly.

From her discription:
1 Foot Long
Possible sailfin
black with white strips all over its body.
the striping is apparently quite thin and close together.

Like I said, I am hoping to swing by and snap a picture of this beast but what are the possiblities of this fish and price ranges?

Queen Abasque?

I take it you mean arabesque, which it woudn't be, not at a foot long (there max size is about 4". Is hard to I.D from that description, nothing is really jumping into my mind from it. Picture would be best.

His avatar is a Queen Arabesque. Not too bad lookin';) .

I'd say there is only one choice, one of the many species of common. It is a pterygoplichthys most likely. Due to the colors, I'd say it is just a very stressed specimen.

Could maybe be L. pardalis or P. pardalis or whatever one your using, and thanks jconley
