Hi i'm a bit stuck on how to space out my grow outs, I have 2 tanks....

tank 1 is a 4x2x2 which is situated in the front room and will be seen all the time.

tank 2 is a 6x2x2 which is situated in my spare room and is rarely seen by anyone but me unless i take people in there to show them.

This is my overall stock, all has been growing out in my 4x2x2 over the last few months.

3 x Heros Sp. Rotkeil
3 x Heros Efaciatus
1 x Green Terror
1 x Jack Dempsey
1 x Electric Blue Jack Dempsey
3 x pink convict
1 x Firemouth
1 x Texas
4 x Electric Yellow Lab
1 x Aulonocara Sp. Dragon Blood firefish
2 x Electric Blue Hap
1 x Livingstonii Hap
1 x Female Red Dragon ZZ Flowerhorn
3 x Blood Parrot
1 x Sailfin Pleco
1 x Common Pleco
2 x Striped Raphael Catfish
2 x Featherfin Synodontis
1 x Pictus Catfish

i will add some dithers to the big tank, probably Silver Dollars and Clown loaches.

The current idea i have is

4x2x2 = female flowerhorn, female texas, blood parrots, all africans (all colourful fish) raphaels, synodontis's

6x2x2 = all 6 severums, green terror, convicts, Firemouth, ebjd, jack, dithers, both plecs, pictus

How do you think i should do it?

In which tank? all in the 6ft? then the Africans in the 4ft? if so would the Synos be better in with the Africans?

So how about this
6x2x2

3 x Heros Sp. Rotkeil
2 x Heros Efaciatus
1 x Green Terror
1 x Jack Dempsey
3 x pink convict
1 x Firemouth
1 x Texas
1 x Female Red Dragon ZZ Flowerhorn
1 x Sailfin Pleco
1 x Common Pleco
2 x Striped Raphael Catfish
1 x Pictus Catfish
2 x Featherfin Synodontis

4x2x2

4 x Yellow Lab
1 x Firefish
1 x Livingstonii
2 x Blue Hap
3 x Blood Parrot
5 x Clown Loach

Then i suppose add some more malawis to the 4x2x2?

That sounds like a problem waiting to happen, like montess said, overstocking might work, but i'm going to say its not going to. I would sell some fish from the 180g. I have a feeling the severums are going to get picked on, and possibly the firemouth.

How come you highlighted the common Plec? (I understand about the Sevs, althought they have been raised from 1" with the Flowerhorns, GT, Texas etc to near 6" and they don'y pay attention to one another, the Texas dominates the tank and nothing messes with it, the GT is the biggest fish in the tank but other than biting me...seems to be fine. (so far of course).

The Female Flowerhorn is gentle so far, but i do have a seperator if needed.

just because how large they get and the bioload and poop that comes out of those things. With as heavy as stocked tank as yours, i would try to get rid of something as messy as that. Your lucky they all get along, we will have to wait and see. I would be afraid when the flowerhorns tries to breed.
