I have had this guy for about 8 months now I got him when he was 1" even then he had spots like the notatus do. As he grew he got better and better. I thought it was a female for some time because the marking on his face were just dots not the worms. But the more he grows the more the spots run together and look more worm like. As he grows he get more too.

Any ways is Nip a male or female? Also what type of Heros is he? Is it a Heros efasciatus or maybe a mix or a tapajo maybe belem. whatever it is this is my fav fish by far.

Here he is at 4" all most 5" Taken yesterday.

yeah great sev, that is a very nice green male severum, most of the ones ive seen dont have that much color to them so yours is a very nice specimen!!! though he could very well be a green/efasciatus mix if you didn't get him from a reputable source but doesnt really matter cus he looks great :)

Thanks guys. I really think he is a mix. He came from a small chain pet store called petsupermart I think it is called. I got lucky with this guy.

He is in a 55 gal for now but I have a 100 gal that he will go in once he out grows this one. The reason he is not in the 100 gal now is because him and my True Parrot hate eachother so I seperated them.

I'm looking to upgrade my 55 gal to a 80 or 90 gal soon I'm just waiting for the perfect tank. Thanks for looking out of my fish but don't worry he is well cared for and I have a large tank for him.

he would be fine in the 55 for life if him and the parrot don't get along...
