Wussup everyone, found this forum searching snakeheads on Google as I have just purchased one. Haven't had one since a channa micropeltes back in 2003. From checking out the pictures on this site, I believe it is a Channa Obscura. Can someone confirm this? If so, how are these fish and what should I expect owning them?

P.insignis all the way, provide some shelter, keep temp. above 78 degrees, keep water clean, feed chopped earthworms, frozen & dry krill/shrimp and (optional) cleaned feeders. Like keeping a micro. or cobra. just a little smaller. Goodluck! and don't get pinched...

it's a african snakie, but which one...I can't remember that

With the triangular shaped spot on the caudal peduncle and the dorsal markings look to be tyde to the P.obscura, as well as the diiferent markings on the dorsal and caudal fin, I stand corrected. Most likely an Obscura, enjoy.

Baby obscura for sure. What are you feeding it?

Looks just like the one my friend in the Philippines has, with many side spots, some have less side spots.
